How to fix Canonical Issues
- 1.Ensure every published page has a self-referencing canonical tag pointing to its single preferred URL.
- 2.Audit all canonical tags pointing to external domains or unexpected paths — these are rarely intentional and are often introduced by CDNs or CMS plugins.
- 3.For duplicate products accessible via multiple URL paths, canonicalize to the version with the highest inbound link count.
- 4.Verify your XML sitemap only includes canonical URLs, not their parameter or pagination variants.
